Canada-Australia Army Staff Talks (CAN-AUS AST). The annual ASTs enhance the army-to-army relationships, synchronize bilateral efforts, and improve interoperability, interdependence, and integration in accordance with the Canadian Army Engagement Strategy. The Canadian Head of Delegation (HoD) is the Deputy Commander Canadian Army (DComd CA). ASTs include three days of plenary sessions, working groups, back-briefs tot he HoDs, and battlefield studies.
