VISIT OF THE CHIEF OF NAVAL OPERATIONS OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA, OTTAWA, ON, 4 – 6 FEBRUARY 2024 Deputy Minister approval is requested by the Commander of the Royal Canadian Navy (CRCN) in support of hosting Admiral Yang, the newly appointed Korean Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) in Ottawa, Ontario, from 4 to 6 February 2024. The intent of his visit will be to discuss current and future maritime operations in the Indo-Asia Pacific, including Operation NEON, areas for collaboration between the two navies, and the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project. The CRCN will be the first to host Admiral Yang. Minimal alcoholic beverages will be included at the hosted dinner strictly as a matter of official protocol, in addition to Very Important Person local transportation.
