On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, the Commissioner of Official Languages, Raymond Théberge, presented his report A shared future: A closer look at our official language minority communities 2022–2023 at a press conference in Winnipeg. It was a hybrid press conference, in virtual and in-person mode. The conference was followed by an informal networking event with members of the Winnipeg community. Since the report highlights issues related to official language minority communities, we wanted to hold the conference in one of these communities and where a favourable public environment lends itself to it, hence the choice of Winnipeg.
