•The Media Freedom Coalition issued 1 statement on a specific case of media freedom (killing of Shireen Abu Akleh).
• The Media Freedom Coalition, Freedom Online Coalition, and International IDEA co-hosted a UN General Assembly High-Level Week side event on Upholding Democracy and Human Rights in the Face of Rising Disinformation on September 20th.

• Canada participated at the World Press Freedom Day Global Conference, organized by UNESCO in Uruguay in May 2022.
• Canada co-led, with the Netherlands, the UN Human Rights Council (HRC) biannual resolution on Freedom of Expression in June 2022.

•Provided $1 million to the Global Media Defence Fund in February 2022 at the Global Conference for Media Freedom. •MInister Joly co-hosted the ministerial conference on February 9 in Estonia under the auspices of the Global Conference for Media Freedom.
