The ADM Committee on Data and Information has been established as the Government of Canada body responsible for enterprise governance of information and data. With the release of the 2023-2026 Federal Data Strategy for the Public Service, ADM CDI now meets regularily and is understood as the senior body responsible for decision-making and implementation of the strategy.

Work is underway to define key roles and responsibilities for data professionals, including defining the role of the GC CDO, departmental CDOs, and devising a generic data stewardship model to support data governance across and within departments.

ADM CDI now meets monthly and coordinates its meetings with other governance bodies to maximize decision-making needed around information and data governance.
