Justice Canada continues to foster international partnerships to advance open justice and access to justice. Of note for this quarter, Justice Canada confirmed that it will be co-hosting, in collaboration with Canada’s International Development Research Centre, the 2024 OECD Global Roundtable on Access to Justice. This event, taking place in Ottawa on October 9-10, 2024, will bring together over 100 government officials and non-governmental partners from OECD Member and partner countries, academics and civil society to exchange on research findings, lessons learned and promising practices to advance people-centred justice and Sustainable Development Goal 16.

Justice Canada participated in the OECD Global Roundtable on Equal Access to Justice: Making People-centred Justice Happen, which was held in Ljubljana, Slovenia from December 6-8, 2023. On December 19, 2023, Justice Canada welcomed the adoption by the UN General Assembly of the Resolution on Equal Access to Justice for All
