National Action Plan on Open Government Commitment

The Public Participation Maturity Model (PPMM) was publicly launched on September 15, 2025. The virtual launch webinar was hosted by the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue at Simon Fraser University. It included an in-depth walk-through of the tool by Nicole Armos (Wosk); a "fireside chat" hosted by Robin Prest (Wosk and TBS OG MSF Chair) and panelists Charles Taillefer (TBS ATIOG), Aftab Arfan (Wosk), Nicole Armos (Wosk) and Tim Hughes (OGP); and an open Q&A. The PPMM was also presented during a session at the Open Government Partnership Global Summit 2025 Summit, held October 6-10 in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain. The PPMM was discussed in a number of the breakout sessions related to Public Participation. As well, the Government of Canada and the Wosk Centre co-hosted an interactive workshop with participants including representatives from OGP member states and civil society representatives on October 9.

• The Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue published A Maturity Model for Public Participation - Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue - Simon Fraser University (Fall 2025) and hosted a webinar on September 15, 2025. The event featured a discussion with Nicole Armos (lead author), Aftab Erfan (Centre for Dialogue), Tim Hughes (Open Government Partnership), and Charles Taillefer (Government of Canada).
• In collaboration with Simon Fraser University’s Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue, the TBS Open Government team co-hosted the “Advancing Public Participation through Open Government Strategies” side event on October 9, 2025, alongside the Open Government Partnership Global Summit in Spain. The event brought together OGP member and civil society representatives to explore how Open Government strategies can strengthen public participation efforts.
