Colours are added to foods to compensate for the natural colour loss due to processing, to achieve a uniform product colour and to make food appear more appealing. The National Microbiological Monitoring Program (NMMP) is a food surveillance program managed by the CFIA to verify industry compliance with microbial standards, facilitate access of Canadian food products to international markets, provide information on the effectiveness of food safety control measures and interventions, and maintain consumer confidence in the safety of the food supply. The AIA is a questionnaire designed to help users assess and mitigate the risks associated with deploying an automated decision system. The AIA also helps identify the impact level of the automated decision system under the proposed Directive on Automated Decision-Making. These assessments were previously archived on the Canadian Impact Assessment Registry. Both the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency and other authorities had the responsibility to post certain information on the Registry.
