The financial, people management and results data presented in the GC InfoBase are periodically updated as new information becomes available. Due to the nature of varying datasets, not all datasets are updated at the same time or on the same periodic schedule. For example, the Public Accounts of Canada is published every fall, while Departmental Plans, are published on or before March 31 each year. Once published, the data must be prepared in an appropriate format to be integrated into the GC InfoBase.

Species characterization by environmental DNA (eDNA) is a method that allows the use of DNA released into the environment by organisms from various sources (secretions, faeces, gametes, tissues, etc.). It is a complementary tool to standard sampling methods for the identification of biodiversity. This project provides a list of fish and marine mammal species whose DNA has been detected in water samples collected between 2019 and 2021 using the mitochondrial marker MiFish (12S).

The surveys were carried out in the summer of 2019 (July 14-18) and (July 30 - August 5), in the fall of 2020 (October 27-28) and in …

As Canada’s nuclear regulator, the CNSC reviews the environmental protection measures put in place for every facility we regulate. The environmental protection review report series offers a summary of CNSC staff’s technical assessment of how effectively licensees are protecting human health and the environment in the communities in which they are operating.

The purpose of the report is to share CNSC staff’s findings from the review of Orano Canada Inc.'s environmental protection measures for the Cluff Lake Project. This includes the risk of radiological or hazardous substances posed to the environment and human health.

The Department of Justice Canada has contracted community-based research to better understand the lives of individuals involved in the sex trade. The former 2014 legislation, Bill C-36, the Protection of Communities and Exploited Persons Act, also known as the “Nordic” model or approach, targets purchasers of sexual services and third parties who profit from others’ sexual services. Under this legislation, providers of sexual services are not criminalized, but are instead viewed as requiring support and not punishment (Department of Justice Canada 2014). With this important distinction at the forefront of this approach, the Measures Addressing Prostitution Initiative (MAPI) was created …
