The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 15 of the Atlas, Permian Strata of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, Figure 14, Permian Isopach and Lithofacies. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.

This dataset is part of the three-dimensional (3-D) hydrostratigraphic model of the Sylvan Lake sub-basin in the Edmonton-Calgary Corridor, central Alberta. It represents the structure top of hydrostratigraphic unit (HSU) C2, which contains the majority of fine-grained materials in the Neogene-Quaternary succession of the Sylvan Lake sub-basin and is the top boundary of the model domain. This dataset supplements Alberta Geological Survey (AGS) Open File Report 2014-10, which includes a full description of steps taken to produce the structure grid.

This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 7 of the Atlas, Paleographic Evolution of the Cratonic Platform - Cambrian to Triassic, Figure 14, Triassic (PT2) Paleogeography. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.

The Natural Resources Conservation Board Service Area dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent Natural Resources Conservation Board Service Areas in Alberta. The dataset is the administrative boundary for the 4 regional offices of Natural Resources Conservation Board.

This is an approximated visualization of the School Authority boundary information that is currently available on the Alberta Education public website (https://education.alberta.ca/boundary-maps/school-jurisdiction-maps/everyone/view-and-print-maps). The information has been informed by Ministerial Orders and is presented in a mapping format.

The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.
