This GIS dataset depicts the surficial geology of the NTS map area 84N southwest (polygon features). The data are created in ArcInfo format and output for public distribution in Arc export (E00) and shapefile formats.
This GIS dataset depicts the permafrost areas of NTS map area 84L Northwest ( polygon features). The data are created in ArcInfo format and output for public distribution in Arc export (E00) and shapefile formats.
All available bathymetry and related information for Johnnys Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.
All available bathymetry and related information for Swan Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary.
All available bathymetry and related information for Cold Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary.
A digital grid of the subcrop edge of the Joli Fou Formation, originally modeled from borehole data and adjusted to present-day and paleo river erosion. Values in the grid correspond to areas where the unit is present (denoted by the number '50'), or where it is absent (denoted by the null value '-9999'). The grid is generated at a 250 m cell-size resolution, based on information as recent as 2003.
The data represents the frost-free period in Alberta over the 30-year period from 1971 to 2000. A 30-year period is used to describe the present climate since it is enough time to filter out short-term fluctuations but is not dominated by any long-term trend in the climate. The frost-free period is the number of days between the last date of 00C in the spring and the first date of 00C in the fall. Frost free periods in Alberta vary from 125 days in the south to less than 85 days in higher elevation, non-agricultural areas. The frost-free period is presented as …
The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 8 of the Atlas, Middle Cambrian to Lower Ordovician Strata of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, Figure 20, Middle Cambrian Isopach and Lithofacies. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.
This GIS dataset depicts the permafrost areas of NTS map area 84K northeast (polygon features). The data are created in ArcInfo format and output for public distribution in Arc export (E00) and shapefile formats.
This GIS dataset depicts the surficial geology of the NTS map area 83O Northwest ( line features). The data are created in ArcInfo format and output for public distribution in Arc export (E00) and shapefile formats.
