A digital grid of the top of the Empress Fm. Unit 3 sand and gravel, (the uppermost unit in the Empress Formation), where present, or the topography of the surrounding landscape, where Unit 3 is absent. The unit is originally modeled from borehole data and adjusted to the bedrock surface, the surfaces of units 1 and 2 of the Empress Formation, the and present-day land surface. The grid is generated at a 250 m cell-size resolution, based on information as recent as 2003.
The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 17 of the Atlas, Paleographic Evolution of the Western Canada Foreland Basin, Figure 14, Horseshoe Canyon/Scollard/Paskapoo/Ravenscrag Paleogeography. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.
The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 13 of the Atlas, Devonian Wabamun Group of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, Figure 4c, Wabamun Lithology Dolomite. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.
This data release includes fluid saturation results of selected samples for analyses of shale- and siltstone-hosted hydrocarbons. The strata evaluated include the: - basal Banff Formation, - Colorado Group, - Duvernay Formation, - Exshaw Formation, - Montney Formation, - Muskwa Formation, - Nordegg Member, and - Rierdon Formation.
The Plains, Northern, Foothills Boundary feature class contains polygon features representing Department of Energy Regional Boundaries for the Province of Alberta.
This dataset is a GIS version of Alberta Geological Survey (AGS) Map 146, polygon features, as mapped at 1:250,000 scale. Digitizing was originally done by Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration (PFRA). The data were supplied to AGS by PFRA in Arc/Info coverage format (map polygon features only). Data were subsequently checked and edited by AGS.
All available bathymetry and related information for Twin Lakes were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.
All available bathymetry and related information for Cooking Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary.
This GIS dataset depicts the surficial geology of the Mikkwa River area (NTS 84G/NE) (GIS data, line features). The data were created in geodatabase format and output for public distribution in shapefile format. These data comprise the line features of Alberta Geological Survey Map 576, Surficial Geology of the Mikkwa River Area (NTS 84G/NE).
All available bathymetry and related information for Vincent Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary.
