These are the results of the annual DFO survey of 192 fish stocks. This survey tracks Fisheries and Oceans Canada’s implementation of its Sustainable Fisheries Framework policies.

The Riparian Area Quality Index (IQBR) is used to assess the ecological condition of the riparian environment. It is built from nine components that have been weighted according to their potential to fulfill ecological functions with regard to the protection of aquatic ecosystems. Land cover is limited to treed areas over 3600m2 in size and over two metres in height. Orchards, nurseries, tree lines, and single landmark trees are also included. The Nova Scotia Hydrographic Network is an enhanced version of the Nova Scotia Topographic Database's Water Features theme. This dataset includes network spines for connectivity of water flow and various attribution for flow direction, priority of water flow and toponymic objects where applicable.
