Alberta Geological Survey created a coal and coalbed methane (CBM) database to capture and manage CBM data. The database compiles different sources and contains information on 7923 wells (15,200 formation picks, 37,357 coal picks, 495 coal analyses and 363 vitrinite reflectance measurements). From this parent dataset, individual coal zones were evaluated. This record describes the Ardley Coal Zone's calculated gas content.
All available bathymetry and related information for Jack Fish Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.
The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 10 of the Atlas, Devonian Elk Point Group of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, Figure 20, Elk Point Structure. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.
This GIS dataset depicts the surficial geology of the NTS map area 83P Northeast (point features). The data are created in ArcInfo format and output for public distribution in Arc export (E00) and shapefile formats.
All available bathymetry and related information for Cow Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary.
This GIS dataset depicts the surficial geology of the Slims Creek area (NTS 84F/SW) (discontinuous permafrost features). The data were created in geodatabase format and output for public distribution in shapefile format. These data comprise the permafrost polygon features of Alberta Geological Survey Map 581, Surficial Geology of the Slims Creek Area (NTS 84F/SW).
This GIS dataset depicts the surficial geology of the NTS map area 83O Northeast ( line features). The data are created in ArcInfo format and output for public distribution in Arc export (E00) and shapefile formats.
All available bathymetry and related information for Elkwater Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary.
This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 27 of the Atlas, Geological History of the Williston Basin and Sweetgrass Arch, Figure 6, Lithotectonic Basement Elements. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.
The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 17 of the Atlas, Paleographic Evolution of the Western Canada Foreland Basin, Figure 6, Middle Upper Mannville (and Equivalents) Paleogeography. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.
