This report contains weekly crude runs (WCR) and refinery capacity for major Canadian regions. Crude runs represent the volume of crude oil processed by a refinery.
The Canada Energy Regulator regulates the export of refined petroleum products. Holders of export authorizations report monthly statistics on export activities.
This dataset provides historical export volumes of refined petroleum products (by year and month), and by product.
Companies importing and exporting electricity hold regulatory authorization from the CER and are required to report their export/import activities each month.
Generated electricity not consumed domestically is exported. Electricity trade with United States is affected by prices, weather, power-line infrastructure and regional supply and demand. All these cause trade to vary from year to year. Canada also imports some electricity from the United States. The integrated Canada-US power grid allows for bi-directional flows to help meet fluctuating regional supply and demand.

The following report is based on Compliance Verification Activities (CVAs) conducted by NEB Staff, including Inspection Officers. NEB Staff conduct a variety of CVAs, including Inspections, Audits, Compliance Meetings, Emergency Response Exercise Evaluations, and document reviews. The report includes multiple data points relating to the CVA, including but not limited to, the type, date, company and location of the CVA. The report also includes data regarding observations made and any compliance tools used.

Regulated companies are required by the Damage Prevention Regulations (DPRs) to immediately report all contraventions of the DPRs (e.g. failure to obtain consent, failure to comply with conditions of consent, failure to make a locate request). If the regulations are not followed when conducting an activity that causes a ground disturbance in the prescribed area, constructing a facility on, along, across or below a pipeline, or crossing a pipeline with vehicles or mobile equipment without consent, it is unauthorized, and illegal, unless otherwise authorized by the CER. This dataset contains a list of O&M Activities for which a notification was required. O&M Activities are carried out by companies to maintain a pipeline in safe operating condition. This dataset contains a list of Notification of Contamination (NOC) submissions and the most recent annual update information (if applicable). Regulated companies are required to report contamination to the CER through the online submission of a NOC when Contamination is identified or encountered during any phase of the Facility’s lifecycle, and the presence of Contamination is confirmed through analytical sampling, or when Contamination resulting from an Incident cannot be remediated within 12 weeks of the Incident being reported to the CER.

The Canada Energy Regulator produces a table showing conditions from projects approved since 2010. This table lists conditions by company and by specific approval number. It also shows the current status of each condition. The conditions dataset is updated daily. This dataset is used in the Conditions on Energy Projects visualization tool on the Canada Energy Regulator website. The source code for the visualization tool is also available.
