Vanguard Zero Edge
A digital grid of the subcrop edge of the Base of Fish Scales horizon, originally modeled from borehole data and adjusted to present-day and paleo river erosion. Values in the grid correspond to areas where the unit is present (denoted by the number '15'), or where it is absent (denoted by the null value '-9999'). The grid is generated at a 250 m cell-size resolution, based on information as recent as 2003.
The Fish and Wildlife Enforcement District dataset is comprised of the polygons representing Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Districts in Alberta. Alberta Justice and Solicitor General, Government of Alberta, manages the Fish and Wildlife enforcement services to provide the public and other government departments' information regarding the locations of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Districts throughout the province.
This GIS dataset depicts the surficial geology of the Chipewyan Lake area (NTS 84A/NW) (discontinuous permafrost features). The data were created in geodatabase format and output for public distribution in shapefile format. These data comprise the permafrost polygon features of Alberta Geological Survey Map 572, Surficial Geology of the Chipewyan Lake Area (NTS 84A/NW).
This map service provides access to the Geophysical Survey Index datasets shown on the GeoAtlas application.
**Please Note – All published Saskatchewan Geological Survey datasets, including those available through the Saskatchewan Mining and Petroleum GeoAtlas, are sourced from the Enterprise GIS Data Warehouse. They are therefore identical and share the same refresh schedule. This map service provides access to the Geophysical Survey Index datasets shown on the GeoAtlas application. It will contain data related to Lithoprobe Lines, NATGAM Spectrometer and Aeromagnetic Survey Indexes data.
Alberta Geological Survey created a coal and coalbed methane (CBM) database to capture and manage CBM data. The database compiles different sources and contains information on 7923 wells (15,200 formation picks, 37,357 coal picks, 495 coal analyses and 363 vitrinite reflectance measurements). From this parent dataset, individual coal zones were evaluated. This record describes the Carbon Thompson Coal Zone's vitrinite reflectance measurements.
The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 31 of the Atlas, Petroleum Generation and Migration in the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, Figure 7, Duvernay Petroleum System. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.
All available bathymetry and related information for Lac La Biche were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.
This polygon dataset is part of the three-dimensional (3-D) hydrostratigraphic model of the Sylvan Lake sub-basin in the Edmonton-Calgary Corridor, central Alberta. This dataset provides the areal distribution of greater than or equal to 0.60 net-to-gross sandstone values for the Paskapoo Formation - Middle Composite Slice, defined by an analysis of normalized oil and gas well digital gamma-ray logs to produce discrete slices of net-to-gross sandstone distribution within the Paskapoo Formation. The zonated Paskapoo Formation - Middle Composite Slice is in ESRI shapefile format for input into a groundwater flow model. This dataset supplements Alberta Geological Survey (AGS) Open File …
This cartographic quality series of 1:2 000 000 scale colour maps cover the provincial extent of Alberta. The primary provincial base map displays the Alberta Township System (ATS), major hydrographic features, municipalities, major roads, railways and select geoadministrative features (parks, reserves, etc.). In addition to the primary provincial base map, this series includes various themes that overlay the primary base map. The update of this map series is based on the provincial Base Features Access Update Program that has an approximate 5 year update cycle. Refer to the 'time period of content' in the metadata record for currency of each …
