This polygon dataset is part of the three-dimensional (3-D) hydrostratigraphic model of the Sylvan Lake sub-basin in the Edmonton-Calgary Corridor, central Alberta. This dataset provides the areal distribution of greater than or equal to 0.60 net-to-gross sandstone values for the Paskapoo Formation - Middle Composite Slice, defined by an analysis of normalized oil and gas well digital gamma-ray logs to produce discrete slices of net-to-gross sandstone distribution within the Paskapoo Formation. The zonated Paskapoo Formation - Middle Composite Slice is in ESRI shapefile format for input into a groundwater flow model. This dataset supplements Alberta Geological Survey (AGS) Open File …
This cartographic quality series of 1:2 000 000 scale colour maps cover the provincial extent of Alberta. The primary provincial base map displays the Alberta Township System (ATS), major hydrographic features, municipalities, major roads, railways and select geoadministrative features (parks, reserves, etc.). In addition to the primary provincial base map, this series includes various themes that overlay the primary base map. The update of this map series is based on the provincial Base Features Access Update Program that has an approximate 5 year update cycle. Refer to the 'time period of content' in the metadata record for currency of each …
All available bathymetry and related information for Outpost Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.
In 2014, the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) initiated a Play-Based Regulation (PBR) pilot project as a step towards implementation of the Unconventional Regulatory Framework. One of the goals of the PBR pilot is to encourage companies in the unconventional play area to work together on plans for surface development to minimize the numbers of facilities and surface impacts. This dataset is one of a series created using earth observation imagery to assess surface change caused by energy exploration. The PBR area extends from Twp. 52, Rge. 7, W 5th Mer. to Twp. 70, Rge. 5, W 6th Mer., covering the …
All available bathymetry and related information for Nipisi Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary.
All available bathymetry and related information for Upper Kananaskis Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. This dataset is produced for the Government of Alberta and is available to the general public. Please consult the Distribution Information of this metadata for the appropriate contact to acquire this dataset. Riparian areas consist of the lands adjacent to streams, rivers, wetlands and lakes that are strongly influenced by the presence of water. They are often distinct from the surrounding landscape as the vegetation growth is very lush. These areas form a transition between dry land and open water and are characterized by the presence of hydrophilic vegetation and specific soil types. Riparian areas are usually very productive in …
Compiled by Alberta Data Partnerships Ltd. (ADP), on behalf of the Government of Alberta, the ATS v4.1 Alberta Provincial Boundary polygon layer contains the polygon that represents the location of the boundaries of the Province of Alberta.
