This GIS dataset depicts the surficial geology of the NTS map area 84M Northeast (polygon features). The data are created in ArcInfo format and output for public distribution in Arc export (E00) and shapefile formats.
This map displays an assessment of surface water quality risk for the agricultural area of Alberta. Agricultural activities that may have an impact on surface water quality, including livestock, crop production and agrochemical use, were identified and used to produce this map. The classes shown on the map were ranked from 0 (lowest risk) to 1 (highest risk). This resource was created in 2002 using ArcGIS.
All available bathymetry and related information for Gosling Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.
This GIS dataset depicts the surficial geology of NTS map area 84O (line features). The data were created in geodatabase format and output for public distribution in shapefile format. The map was prepared by airphoto interpretation together with limited ground-truthing. The airphotos within Wood Buffalo National Park were flown in 1975 (scale 1:54,000). The airphotos from outside the park were flown in 1994 (scale 1:60,000).
The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 11 of the Atlas, Devonian Beaverhill Lake Group of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, Figure 1, Beaverhill Lake Regional Paleogeography. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.
The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 7 of the Atlas, Paleographic Evolution of the Cratonic Platform - Cambrian to Triassic, Figure 12, Carboniferous Elkton/Midale (DM6) Paleogeography. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.
In 2014, the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) initiated a Play-Based Regulation (PBR) pilot project as a step towards implementation of the Unconventional Regulatory Framework. One of the goals of the PBR pilot is to encourage companies in the unconventional play area to work together on plans for surface development to minimize the numbers of facilities and surface impacts. This dataset is one of a series created using earth observation imagery to assess surface change caused by energy exploration. The PBR area extends from Twp. 52, Rge. 7, W 5th Mer. to Twp. 70, Rge. 5, W 6th Mer., covering the …
This dataset is produced for the Government of Alberta and is available to the general public. Please consult the Distribution Information of this metadata for the appropriate contact to acquire this dataset. The Base Watersheds data was created by re-working and post-processing the digital elevation data from the Alberta Provincial Digital Elevation Model, the digital hydrography data from the Base Stream and Flow Representation Lines, the Base Waterbody Polygons and the Base Hydrography Point Events and the digital boundaries of the ATS Version 4.1 Alberta Provincial Boundary. The digital elevation data was hydrologically corrected using simplified versions of the Base …
This GIS dataset depicts the surficial geology of the NTS map area 84N southwest (polygon features). The data are created in ArcInfo format and output for public distribution in Arc export (E00) and shapefile formats.
This GIS dataset depicts the permafrost areas of NTS map area 84L Northwest ( polygon features). The data are created in ArcInfo format and output for public distribution in Arc export (E00) and shapefile formats.
