Part III of the Estimates consists of two documents: Departmental Plans (DPs) and Departmental Results Reports (DRRs). Departmental Plans are forward-looking documents that provide plans for each department and agency (excluding Crown corporations). Departmental Results Reports are individual department and agency accounts of actual accomplishments against plans, priorities and results set out in their respective Departmental Plans.
As per the TBS Policy on Results, a new reporting format—consisting of a Departmental Results Framework and Program Inventory—was adopted in the 2018-19 fiscal year by all organizations. As a result, the datasets presented on this page start in 2018-19. Datasets corresponding …
The Canada School of Public Service (CSPS) Digital Academy is committed to creating learning products and experiences that meet the needs of public servants and their organizations, and help them acquire the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to be successful in a modern age.
In order to plan our future learning products, we’ve recently conducted a user study "Shape Your Learning" to help us gain insights into public servants’ knowledge and skills levels in areas related to digital, as well as into learning habits, preferences and interests. We received responses from 4,775 public servants, and we have great insights to …
Glacier National Park provides important habitat for a wide range of bird species. As the most diverse land vertebrates, birds are an important indicator of ecosystem health. Yearly data are collected at these sites using audio recorders to determine trends in diurnal avian species abundance by species. Data can provide a number of ecological indices such as the effects of land use and climate change.
Whitebark pine blister rust (Cronartium ribicola) is an introduced pathogen affecting whitebark pine (Pinus albicaulis) and limber pine (Pinus flexilis). Whitebark pine is an endangered species protected under the Federal Species at Risk Act (SARA) and Limber pine is designated as an endangered species by the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada (COSEWIC). Infection and mortality rates of these species are increasing across their northern range. Every five years, data are collected from permanently marked plots to monitor infection levels across the mountain national parks. Survey data are collected to quantify infection in Glacier National Park to …
In an effort to assess the current state of wildland fire as an ecological process, the Area Burned Condition Class (ABCC) measure is designed to reflect modern-day deviations from historical wildland fire cycles (i.e., frequency). The ABCC was developed as a medium to long term ecological integrity monitoring measure that is fully integrated with the national program of ecological Integrity (EI) indicators, and measures. Calculations of area burned condition class are according to the methods outlined in the Park Canada Agency’s Fire Monitoring Guide.
The Energy Futures series explores how possible energy futures might unfold for Canadians over the long term. Canada’s Energy Future 2020: Energy Supply and Demand Projections to 2050 (EF2020) is our latest long-term energy outlook. It is the first outlook in the series to provide projections to 2050. It covers all energy commodities, and all provinces and territories. We use economic and energy models to develop this outlook. We also make assumptions about technology, energy and climate policies, energy markets, human behaviour and the economy.
Counts and amounts of entitled individuals and the total amount, demonstrated by age, gender, and province of residence. Valid at end of August 2020.
The GO Canada initiative is a project that brings together a variety of space weather research tools and infrastructure. This network of ground-based instruments (more than 120 as of June 2019) that monitor space weather over Canada's North collects geospatial data, conducts scientific research and turns scientific knowledge into applications that benefit Canadians. This set of instruments, tools and measuring stations is essential for monitoring the Earth's magnetic field and protecting the population from solar flares.
The proposed resources produce an interactive map (Google Earth) showing where GO Canada tools, instruments and research stations are located across the country. This …
Kluane National Park and Reserve has one of the largest concentrations of Dall’s sheep in the world. Dall's Sheep are highly valued by local First Nations and are also being monitored in neighbouring jurisdictions. Aerial survey counts of Dall's sheep have been monitored in four subpopulations since 1977. Rams, nursery (ewes and immature rams) and young of year (lambs) are recorded. Helicopters are used to fly the surveys every 1-3 years in June.
