A digital grid of the top of the Empress Fm. Unit 1 sand and gravel, (the lowermost unit in the Empress Formation), where present, or the topography of the surrounding landscape, where Unit 1 is absent. The unit is originally modeled from borehole data and adjusted to the bedrock surface and present-day land surface. The grid is generated at a 250 m cell-size resolution, based on information as recent as 2003.
Grants and Contributions: All institutions subject to the Policy on Transfer Payments are required to publish reports on Grants and Contributions within the Government of Canada. This dataset consolidates all the Grants and Contributions reports submitted by federal institutions.
The Alberta Regeneration Information System (ARIS) requires a unique identifier assigned to a cutblock to enable tracking within ARIS. This number is generated from a point roughly derived from the centre of the cutblock. The number is a concatenation of the point's legal description plus a grid cell number. The format is MRRTTTSSGG where M - Meridian, RR - Range, TTT - Township, SS - Section, GG - grid cell. The MRRTTSS information is derived with reference to the Alberta Township System. The grid cell is derived from a 10 by 10 grid that is overlaid on the section that …
Travel Expenses: The rules and principles governing travel are outlined in the Policies for Ministers' Offices, the National Joint Council’s Travel Directive, the Treasury Board's Directive on Travel, Hospitality, Conference and Event Expenditures and Special Travel Authorities. This dataset consolidates all the Travel Expense reports submitted by federal institutions.
The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 17 of the Atlas, Paleographic Evolution of the Western Canada Foreland Basin, Figure 10, Dunvegan Paleogeography. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.

This dataset evaluates the sandstone-hosted uranium potential of Alberta. An Alberta Geological Survey database of oil and gas well logs were queried to identify wells with gamma values greater than 300 API (American Petroleum Institute units). An algorithm written for this analysis queried more than 48 000 gamma ray logs from more than 22 000 wells. Of those, 11 476 readings greater than 300 API, within the upper 500 metres, were found in 6176 wells. We selected 1318 wells, verified the anomaly and determined rock types using a combination of gamma, density and resistivity logs. This dataset is associated with …
