The Alberta Transportation Region dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent Alberta Transportation Regions in Alberta. The Transportation Region is the 1st level of administrative established by Alberta Transportation to manage roads (primary and secondary highways) under their jurisdiction.
A digital grid of the top of the Base of Fish Scales horizon, originally modeled from borehole data and adjusted to present-day and paleo river erosion. The grid is generated at a 250 m cell-size resolution, based on information as recent as 2003.
The Alberta Provincial Digital Elevation Model has five components: the Alberta Provincial Terrain, the Alberta Provincial 25 Metre Raster, the Alberta Provincial 100 Metre Raster, the Alberta Provincial 25 Metre Hillshade and the Alberta Provincial 100 Metre Hillshade. The source data is contained within the feature dataset that houses the Alberta Provincial Terrain. The source data consists of feature classes generated from the mass points, soft breaklines and hard breaklines that were stored as ASCII generate files in 1:20 000 scale National Topographic System (NTS) blocks. The source data has three origins: Digital Elevation Model: Alberta 1980 1995 60K, Southwestern …
Under the Recreation, Ecosystems, and Lands Program, The Recreation, Education, and Partnerships Unit Contact Boundaries dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent the Recreation, Education, and Partnerships districts of Alberta and who to contact for information within that district. The dataset is to help Government of Alberta Staff and external consultants to determine which Biologist is responsible for and has authority over each region.
In 2014, the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) initiated a Play-Based Regulation (PBR) pilot project as a step towards implementation of the Unconventional Regulatory Framework. One of the goals of the PBR pilot is to encourage companies in the unconventional play area to work together on plans for surface development to minimize the numbers of facilities and surface impacts. This dataset is one of a series created using earth observation imagery to assess surface change caused by energy exploration. The PBR area extends from Twp. 52, Rge. 7, W 5th Mer. to Twp. 70, Rge. 5, W 6th Mer., covering the …
The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 12 of the Atlas, Devonian Woodbend-Winterburn Strata of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, Figure 11, Woodbend Reef Complexes and Index Map. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.
The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 8 of the Atlas, Middle Cambrian to Lower Ordovician Strata of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, Figure 22, Cambrian-Lower Ordovician Structure.
This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 13 of the Atlas, Devonian Wabamun Group of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, Figure 16, Whitelaw Isopach. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.
This is a linear disturbance dataset for the Upper North Saskatchewan and Upper Red Deer River Basins of Alberta. This dataset was created to support spatial analyses of linear disturbances in the Upper North Saskatchewan and Upper Red Deer River Basins for the Alberta Environment and Parks report entitled “Ecological response to land use and human activities in the eastern slopes of Alberta's Rocky Mountains: A scientific assessment”. This is a polyline dataset covering the Upper North Saskatchewan and Upper Red Deer River Basins of Alberta, Canada. It shows linear features present in ~2016/2017. Linear disturbances are grouped into five …
All available bathymetry and related information for Red Deer Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.
