Maintenance
We are performing scheduled maintenance from 8:00am to 12:00pm, Monday, December 4th, Eastern time. This GIS dataset depicts the surficial geology of the Thickwood Hills Area (NTS 84A/NE) (GIS data, polygon features). The data were created in geodatabase format and output for public distribution in shapefile format. These data comprise the polygon features of Alberta Geological Survey Map 555, Surficial Geology of the Thickwood Hills Area (NTS 84A/NE).
The following tables contain data on administrative monetary penalties (AMPs) issued by the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) as part of compliance actions, as permitted under the Nuclear Safety and Control Act. In the current tables, which contains details on companies and individuals, data more than two years old is removed as per CNSC policy in conjunction with the annual update to the CSNC’s Regulatory actions Web page (https://www.cnsc-ccsn.gc.ca/eng/acts-and-regulations/regulatory-action/index.cfm). The historical dataset does not contain this identifying information, and serves to illustrate trends in penalties issued over the longer term.
All available bathymetry and related information for Crowsnest Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.
An awareness campaign was developed to raise the general level of understanding of this issue; and advertising took place in the Spring, Summer and Fall of 2009, with the fall wave ending on October 25, 2009. In accordance with Government of Canada Communications Policy, Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) was required to conduct a post-campaign evaluation of the advertising initiative.
All available bathymetry and related information for Fawcett Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary.
Gauging public opinion on important issues to the department is essential in the development of policy, programs, and communication activities. To this end, HRSDC commissioned Corporate Research Associates, Inc. (CRA), to conduct public opinion research on core mandate issues as well as new and emerging issues. This study sought to examine three emerging issues (i.e., Social Partnerships, the Retirement Income System, and Persisting Unemployment), with the goal of utilizing the collected survey information as a means of informing policy direction as well as communications regarding these priority areas. To achieve these objectives, 1500 telephone interviews were conducted with Canadians aged …
In November 2005, participants at the Workshop on Geological Storage of CO2 at Princeton University agreed on the need for a common test problem to assess various models to simulate the fate of CO2 injected into the subsurface. Alberta Geological Survey offered to make available the data for the Wabamun Lake area in Alberta, Canada, which were assembled to develop a comprehensive model for studying CO2 geological storage. The Wabamun Lake area, southwest of Edmonton in central Alberta, was selected as the test area because a variety of favourable conditions identified it as a potential site for future, large-scale CO2 …
This dataset is associated with the article authored by Christine Martineau, Julien Beguin, Armand Séguin and David Paré " Cumulative effects of disturbances on soil nutrients: predominance of antagonistic short-term responses to the salvage logging of insect-killed stands". It comprises 24 plots (experimental units) located both in Montmorency Forest and in the Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier (47°19' N, 71°09' W). The study contained four different levels of disturbance treatment (defoliated, logged, defoliated and logged, and undisturbed controls). Each level of treatment was replicated six times. The database includes information on the FH layer and on the top 0-15cm mineral …
This dataset is the result of two surveys, conducted in August and November 2018. Departments and Agencies were asked to indicate whether they were compliant with the Direction on Enabling Access to Web Services. This Policy Implementation Notice instructs departments to enable access to web services on GC electronic networks for unclassified information.
The dataset contains a list of departments and their self-assessed compliance with the Direction. The dataset also includes information on the availability of specific social media and productivity websites within each department. This list is a set of examples based on popular service providers; all websites …
A digital grid of the top of the Empress Formation where present, or the topography of the surrounding landscape, where the formation is absent. This includes the units 1 to 3 of the Empress Formation in buried valleys, as well as undifferentiated Empress interfluve sediments resting on the bedrock surface between buried valleys. The unit is originally modelled from borehole data and adjusted to the bedrock surface, the surfaces of units 1, 2, 3 and interfluve units of the Empress Formation, and the present-day land surface. The grid is generated at a 250 metre cell-size resolution, based on 2003 information.
