This GIS dataset depicts the structural bedrock top surface in the Edmonton-Calgary Corridor based on water-well litholog data, including bedrock outcrop locations. We sourced the well data from an internal Edmonton-Calgary Corridor geological mapping database. This surface provides a geological model for the region. These data comprise the raster surface of Alberta Geological Survey Map 549, Bedrock Topography of the Edmonton-Calgary Corridor, Alberta.
This grid dataset is part of the three-dimensional (3-D) hydrostratigraphic model of the Sylvan Lake sub-basin in the Edmonton-Calgary Corridor, central Alberta. It represents the structure top of the Paskapoo Formation - Lower Composite Slice of the Sylvan Lake sub-basin. The Paskapoo Formation is a highly heterogeneous system. To satisfy the needs of a groundwater flow model, internal characterization of rock properties was necessary to partition the formation into three distinct geological domains. The Lower Composite Slice is the lowest of these three domains. Alberta Geological Survey (AGS) Open File Report 2014-10 includes a full description of the process used …
The Provincial Bison Protection Areas dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent Bison Protection Areas in Alberta. In order to support the conservation, management and recovery of disease-free bison in northern Alberta, wood bison located within specified Wildlife Management Units (WMUs) are listed as Threatened under the Wildlife Act and Regulation. All hunting of wood bison within Northwest Bison Protection Area is regulated and based on issuance of a bison special licence and allocation processes for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous persons. All hunting (Indigenous and non-Indigenous) of wood bison within the Wabasca Bison Protection Area is prohibited. Legal …
In 2014 the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) initiated a Play-Based Regulation (PBR) pilot project as a step towards implementation of the Unconventional Regulatory Framework. One of the goals of the PBR pilot is to encourage companies in the unconventional play area to work together on plans for surface development to minimize the numbers of facilities and surface impacts. This data set is one of a series created using earth observation imagery to assess surface change caused by energy exploration. The PBR area extends from Twp. 52, Rge. 7, W 5th Mer. to Twp. 70, Rge. 5, W 6th Mer., covering …
This GIS dataset is a GIS version of AGS Map 178, linear features, as mapped at 1:250,000-scale by Fenton and Andriashek.
All available bathymetry and related information for Goldeye Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.
All available bathymetry and related information for Lower Mann Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary.
Compiled by Alberta Data Partnerships Ltd. (ADP), on behalf of the Government of Alberta, the ATS v4.1 Polygons - Legal Subdivision (LSD) with Road Allowance layer contains polygons that represent the location of LSD and adjacent Road Allowance Segment polygons, derived from the Master Alberta Township System points file published as ATS Version 4.1, dated March 31, 2005, and clipped to an updated Alberta Data Partnerships Ltd. (ADP) created version of the Alberta provincial boundary. Legal Subdivisions and adjacent road allowance segment polygons are new data that were not available for publication at the inception of ATS Version 4.1.
This GIS dataset depicts the surficial geology of the Grand Rapids area (NTS 84A/SE) (GIS data, polygon features). The data were created in geodatabase format and output for public distribution in shapefile format. These data comprise the polygon features of Alberta Geological Survey Map 566, Surficial Geology of the Grand Rapids Area (NTS 84A/SE).
All available bathymetry and related information for Sturgeon Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary.
