This GIS dataset comprises the linear geological features of Map 180, Geology of the Precambrian Shield in northeastern Alberta, NTS 74M and NTS 74L, published by the Alberta Geological Survey. The data are created in ArcInfo and output for public distribution in shapefile format.

This dataset maps the thickness of the Lacombe aquitard as defined by outputs of a 3-D model of sandiness in the Paskapoo Formation. The Lacombe aquitard consists of >65% non-sandy material in stacked, 25 m thick slices above the base of the Paskapoo Formation.

The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.

The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 24 of the Atlas, Uppermost Cretaceous and Tertiary Strata of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, Figure 18, Battle to Bearpaw Isopach. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.

This lithium ground- and formation-water geochemical dataset will enable present and future companies to better evaluate their targets and characterize their resource estimates by being able to distinguish between background and anomalous concentrations of lithium throughout Alberta. The dataset comprises lithium geochemical data from ground and formation water in Alberta and near the Alberta border.
