The purpose of this dataset is to identify areas harvested after the date of the inventory. The Forest Stewardship and Trade Branch is responsible for the creation and maintenance of these boundaries for Crown-managed Forest Management Units. This dataset is produced for the Government of Alberta and is available to the general public.
A digital grid of the subcrop edge of the McMurray Formation, originally modeled from borehole data and adjusted to present-day and paleo river erosion. Values in the grid correspond to areas where the unit is present (denoted by the number '6'), or where it is absent (denoted by the null value '-9999'). The grid is generated at a 250 m cell-size resolution, based on information as recent as 2003.

This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 16 of the Atlas, Triassic Strata of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, Figure 31, Charlie Lake Isopach and Lithofacies. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.

This map displays the distribution of the main soil types found within the province of Alberta. The distribution pattern of soils in Alberta is strongly linked to climate and parent materials. Climate affects the location of different soil groups. The driest area in southeastern Alberta is represented by the presence of Brown Chernozems. As one proceeds north and west, the soils and associated vegetation reflect the increase in available moisture.In Alberta, Organic soils generally occur in association with Luvisolic soils. The Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Region dataset is comprised of all the polygons representing Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Regions in Alberta. Alberta Justice and Solicitor General, Government of Alberta, manages the Fish and Wildlife enforcement services to provide the public and other government departments' information regarding the locations of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Regions throughout the province.
This GIS dataset comprises the linear landform features depicted on AGS Map 213, 'Quaternary Geology, Central Alberta'. These features include eskers, meltwater channels, moraines as well as features either parrallel to or transverse to ice movement direction (small ridges, elongated hummocks and depressions, flutes and drumlins).
This is a GIS dataset containing digitized and attributed line features from scanned Alberta Geological Survey Maps 201, 202, 203 and 204. The data show the surficial geology of the Calgary urban area (NTS areas 82O/01, 82P/04, 82J/16 and 82I/13) and are attributed with geological contact boundaries defined and inferred as shown on the maps. The data from the four maps are presented in a single line layer.
