Maintenance
We are performing scheduled maintenance from 8:00am to 12:00pm, Monday, December 4th, Eastern time. This Open Data Record is comprised of datasets that document human-wildlife coexistence incidents and response actions by Parks Canada Agency from 2010 to 2022.
A human-wildlife coexistence (HWC) “incident” is any potential conflict situation between people and wildlife that was assigned to Parks Canada staff to manage to help ensure the safety and wellbeing of people and wildlife. The vast majority of HWC incidents are minor and staff are able to manage them safely with low risk to people, however, a small subset of the dataset is comprised of more hazardous incidents between people and wildlife that can potentially result …

The Occupational and Skills Information System (OaSIS) provides a comprehensive framework of the skills and competencies that are usually required to work in different occupations. It also provides context for the work environment in which these occupations are performed.
This dataset provides information on 900 occupations including ratings for over 240 descriptors belonging to one of the following categories: Skills, Abilities, Personal attributes, Knowledge, Interests, Work activities and Work context. Standardized dimensions and scales were established at the category level for all categories, except Work context, for which specific dimensions and scales were adopted.
All the descriptors under Skills and …
The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 30 of the Atlas, Geothermal Regime in the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, Figure 2, Heat Generation at Precambrian Surface. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.
This is an approximated visualization of the School Authority Separate information that is currently available on the Alberta Education public website (https://education.alberta.ca/boundary-maps/school-jurisdiction-maps/everyone/view-and-print-maps). The information has been informed by Ministerial Orders and is presented in a mapping format.
This GIS dataset is part of a digital compilation of the bedrock geology of the Foremost area (NTS 72E). It is one of the datasets used to produce Alberta Geological Survey (AGS) Map 568. This dataset represents the compilation of existing geological maps and original geological mapping by AGS staff. Mapping included field observations and creating three-dimensional models of subsurface stratigraphy based on the interpretation of geophysical logs from oil and gas wells. Each three-dimensional formation surface was projected to a model of the bedrock surface, and the intersection formed the first approximation of the position of the geological contact …
The Cold Lake oil sands area - Township 56 to 69, Range 1 to 11, west of the 4th Meridian, falls within the Lower Athabasca Regional Plan (LARP). As part of Alberta's Land-use Framework, LARP was developed in 2012 to set the stage for robust growth, vibrant communities and a healthy environment within the region. One of its implementation objectives is to balance the economic development of oil sands and impacts on the ecosystem and environment. This is to be achieved through enhanced science-based monitoring for improved characterization of the environment and to collect the information necessary to understand cumulative …
All available bathymetry and related information for Utikuma Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.
In 2014, the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) initiated a Play-Based Regulation (PBR) pilot project as a step towards implementation of the Unconventional Regulatory Framework. One of the goals of the PBR pilot is to encourage companies in the unconventional play area to work together on plans for surface development to minimize the numbers of facilities and surface impacts. This dataset is one of a series created using earth observation imagery to assess surface change caused by energy exploration. The PBR area extends from Twp. 52, Rge. 7, W 5th Mer. to Twp. 70, Rge. 5, W 6th Mer., covering the …
All available bathymetry and related information for Ethel Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary.
