The Historical Resource Base Series maps are a series of road and access maps created between 1982 and 1997. These printed monochrome maps are named using the National Topographic System (NTS) map sheet identifier within Alberta and contain the following features: roads and highways. railways and railway points. pipelines. trails. major transmission lines. airfields. municipalities. bodies of water. and natural resource sites. These maps are available as non-georeferenced PDF files and are available as TIFF files on request (please see the Distribution Information). Please refer to the maps for the most current dates.

This grid dataset is part of the three-dimensional (3-D) hydrostratigraphic model of the Sylvan Lake sub-basin in the Edmonton-Calgary Corridor, central Alberta. It represents the structure top of the Paskapoo Formation - Middle Composite Slice of the Sylvan Lake sub-basin. The Paskapoo Formation is a highly heterogeneous system. To satisfy the needs of a groundwater flow model, internal characterization of rock properties was necessary to partition the formation into three distinct geological domains. The Middle Composite Slice is the middle of these three domains. Alberta Geological Survey (AGS) Open File Report 2014-10 includes a full description of the process used …
This map series includes the Reconnaissance Vegetation Inventory maps as well as Current Vegetation Cover (CVC) for Wildlife Resource Inventory and the Assessment and Current Cover Types (CCT) for Wildlife Habitat Inventory. This series of reports and hardcopy maps provides a broad vegetation inventory for the Green Area and White Area. The maps depict both forestry and agricultural based vegetation cover types including those native and introduced to the province, as well as height, and density. In some cases non-vegetated areas are included in the inventory. The Reconnaissance Vegetation Inventory and Current Cover Types for Wildlife Habitat Inventory maps were …
The Canada Energy Regulator produces a table showing conditions from projects approved since 2010. This table lists conditions by company and by specific approval number. It also shows the current status of each condition. The conditions dataset is updated daily. This dataset is used in the Conditions on Energy Projects visualization tool on the Canada Energy Regulator website. The source code for the visualization tool is also available.
All available bathymetry and related information for Kinky Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.
The Phase 1 (Broad Scale) Forest Inventory was initiated in 1949 and completed by 1956. The Phase 1 (Broad Scale) Forest Inventory included all publicly owned forested lands in the province except Indian lands, national parks, and an area known as the Rocky Mountains Forest Reserve. The Phase 1 (Broad Scale) Forest Inventory was used to define lands suitable for agriculture, to determine timber harvest levels and plan forest protection and timber and industrial development. Through aerial photo interpretation, land was classified as productive, potentially productive, or non-productive. On productive forest land, homogeneous groups of trees were classified by 'cover …
Travel Expenses: The rules and principles governing travel are outlined in the Policies for Ministers' Offices, the National Joint Council’s Travel Directive, the Treasury Board's Directive on Travel, Hospitality, Conference and Event Expenditures and Special Travel Authorities. This dataset consolidates all the Travel Expense reports submitted by federal institutions.
All available bathymetry and related information for Vincent Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary.
This cartographic quality series of 1:1 000 000 scale colour maps cover the provincial extent of Alberta. The primary provincial base map displays the Alberta Township System (ATS), major hydrographic features, municipalities, major roads, railways and select geoadministrative features (parks, reserves, etc.). In addition to the primary provincial base map, this series includes various themes that overlay the primary base map. Each individual map sheet is provided in Adobe .pdf format.
