The Alberta Transportation District dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent Alberta Transportation Districts in Alberta. The Transportation District is the 2nd level of administrative established by Alberta Transportation to manage roads (primary and secondary highways) under their jurisdiction.
All available bathymetry and related information for Beaver Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.
A mineral restriction is in place to limit and define mineral exploration and development within the Alberta government's mandate to protect natural or historical sites and to manage mineral resources. Examples of mineral restrictions include Bird Sanctuary, Provincial Park, and Coal Mine Licence Area. Restriction types with different levels of surface access are the result of government policy and all are mineral or substance specific.
This dataset contains an extract of water chemistry data from the Cold Lake - Beaver River Basin project area. The work was completed in 2004 under contract to Alberta Environment (AENV). Information was obtained from industry and government sources. These data are available in three text files, each representing one table in the original database. See the accompanying jpg of the original relationship diagram to understand how the data in the text files tables are related.

Aerial overview surveys are carried out by observers in fixed-wing aircraft flying at appropriate safe heights above ground level over the forest canopy. Surveys cover extensive areas to detect as many new FHDA-caused disturbances as possible. Surveyors record locations, extent, severity, possible causative agent and host tree species involved in the disturbances. This polygon dataset represents those parts of the ground surface modified by lake and stream erosion and deposition, as well as stagnation moraines covered by lacustrine sediment, as depicted in AGS Map 207, 'Quaternary Geology, Southern Alberta' (stippled and cross-hatched areas).
The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 24 of the Atlas, Uppermost Cretaceous and Tertiary Strata of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, Figure 18, Battle to Bearpaw Isopach. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.

This GIS dataset depicts the surficial geology of the NTS map area 84B (polygon features). The 1:250 000 scale dataset was compiled from four published 1:100 000 scale maps (AGS maps 265, 266, 267 and 267). The aggregated data was generalized based on lithologic unit name. The process was overseen by the mapping geologist.The data are created in ArcInfo format and output for public distribution in Arc export (E00) and shapefile formats.
