The mountain pine beetle (Dendroctonus ponderosae Hopkins, MPB) is native to western Canada. It attacks all pine including lodgepole, limber, whitebark and jack pine. Over the past 40 years the range of mountain pine beetle has expanded, possibly due to changes in the area of climatically suitable habitat. Known Limitations: The areas surveyed each year can be different and therefore year over year comparisons may be difficult. the surveyors do not do ground truthing for all disturbances identified, therefore it is not guaranteed that all of the disturbances are caused by MPB. the surveyors do not necessarily map tree patches …
This is an approximated visualization of the School Authority Francophone information that is currently available on the Alberta Education public website (https://education.alberta.ca/boundary-maps/school-jurisdiction-maps/everyone/view-and-print-maps). The information has been informed by Ministerial Orders and is presented in a mapping format.
All available bathymetry and related information for Muir Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.
All available bathymetry and related information for Pine Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary.
A digital grid of the top of the Clearwater Formation, originally modeled from borehole data and adjusted to present-day and paleo river erosion. The grid is generated at a 250 m cell-size resolution, based on information as recent as 2003.
All available bathymetry and related information for Twin Lakes were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary.
All available bathymetry and related information for Wakomao Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. All available bathymetry and related information for Graveyard/Cache Lakes were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary.
The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 14 of the Atlas, Carboniferous Strata of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, Figure 1, Index Map - Distribution of Uppermost Devonian and Carboniferous Lithofacies Assemblages in the WCSB. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature …
All available bathymetry and related information for Baptiste Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary.
