The main objective of this targeted survey was to generate information on the presence and levels of non-permitted colours in red palm oils available on the Canadian retail market.

Colours are added to foods to compensate for the natural colour loss due to processing, to achieve a uniform product colour and to make food appear more appealing. This targeted survey is focused on non-permitted colours, Sudan III and IV, in red palm oils because they are potentially toxic and carcinogenic. Sudan III and IV are red dyes used for industrial products such as textiles, polish and paints and are banned …

All available bathymetry and related information for Peanut Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.

The National Microbiological Monitoring Program (NMMP) is a food surveillance program managed by the CFIA to verify industry compliance with microbial standards, facilitate access of Canadian food products to international markets, provide information on the effectiveness of food safety control measures and interventions, and maintain consumer confidence in the safety of the food supply. Under the NMMP, a broad range of imported and domestic food products are sampled at importers, at federally registered facilities (i.e., those that produce food products that are exported or traded inter-provincially) and at retail. Product and environmental samples collected were sent to CFIA laboratories and …

In November 2005, participants at the Workshop on Geological Storage of CO2 at Princeton University agreed on the need for a common test problem to assess various models to simulate the fate of CO2 injected into the subsurface. Alberta Geological Survey offered to make available the data for the Wabamun Lake area in Alberta, Canada, which were assembled to develop a comprehensive model for studying CO2 geological storage. The Wabamun Lake area, southwest of Edmonton in central Alberta, was selected as the test area because a variety of favourable conditions identified it as a potential site for future, large-scale CO2 …

Detailed results from the Algorithmic Impact Assessment for the ATIP Online Request Service.

What is the Algorithmic Impact Assessment?
The AIA is a questionnaire designed to help users assess and mitigate the risks associated with deploying an automated decision system. The AIA also helps identify the impact level of the automated decision system under the proposed Directive on Automated Decision-Making. The questions are focused on business processes, data, and system design decisions.

The questionnaire asks around 57 questions related to business process, data and system designed decisions. The results will demonstrate the impact level as well as a link where …

The CVS Database provides a catalogue of original vehicle dimensions, for use in vehicle safety research and collision investigation. The purpose of this database is to provide users with a comprehensive listing of vehicle dimensions commonly used in the field of collision investigation and reconstruction, for the North American fleet of passenger cars, light trucks, vans and SUV’s. The database includes model years dating back to 2011 and is comprised of both commonly available dimensions such as overall length, wheelbase and track widths, and also several dimensions which are not typically readily available from the manufacturers, nor from automotive publications. …

The data represents the frost-free period in Alberta over the 30-year period from 1971 to 2000. A 30-year period is used to describe the present climate since it is enough time to filter out short-term fluctuations but is not dominated by any long-term trend in the climate. The frost-free period is the number of days between the last date of 00C in the spring and the first date of 00C in the fall. Frost free periods in Alberta vary from 125 days in the south to less than 85 days in higher elevation, non-agricultural areas. The frost-free period is presented as …
