The data represents the annual total precipitation in Alberta over the 30-year period from 1971 to 2000. A 30-year period is used to describe the present climate since it is enough time to filter our short-term fluctuations but is not dominated by any long-term trend in the climate. Annual total precipitation refers to rain, snow and other forms of moisture such as hail. Annual precipitation is greatest in the mountains and decreases at lower elevations. The Canada Energy Regulator produces a table showing conditions from projects approved since 2010. This table lists conditions by company and by specific approval number. It also shows the current status of each condition. The conditions dataset is updated daily. This dataset is used in the Conditions on Energy Projects visualization tool on the Canada Energy Regulator website. The source code for the visualization tool is also available.
The Non-Crown Mineral Ownership dataset represents land under which any party other than the Province of Alberta holds the mineral rights. This data includes freehold mineral rights as well as mineral rights held by the federal government for National Parks, Indian Reserves, and Surrendered Indian Reserves.
Travel Expenses: The rules and principles governing travel are outlined in the Policies for Ministers' Offices, the National Joint Council’s Travel Directive, the Treasury Board's Directive on Travel, Hospitality, Conference and Event Expenditures and Special Travel Authorities. This dataset consolidates all the Travel Expense reports submitted by federal institutions.
Drillhole information was compiled by the Alberta Geological Survey from public mineral assessment file reports for 397 holes drilled in or near the Athabasca Basin in Northeastern Alberta. The work was done in support of the ExTech IV project led by the Geological Survey of Canada.
Grants and Contributions: All institutions subject to the Policy on Transfer Payments are required to publish reports on Grants and Contributions within the Government of Canada. This dataset consolidates all the Grants and Contributions reports submitted by federal institutions.
The purpose of this dataset is to identify areas harvested after the date of the inventory. The Forest Stewardship and Trade Branch is responsible for the creation and maintenance of these boundaries for Crown-managed Forest Management Units. This dataset is produced for the Government of Alberta and is available to the general public.
A digital grid of the subcrop edge of the McMurray Formation, originally modeled from borehole data and adjusted to present-day and paleo river erosion. Values in the grid correspond to areas where the unit is present (denoted by the number '6'), or where it is absent (denoted by the null value '-9999'). The grid is generated at a 250 m cell-size resolution, based on information as recent as 2003.

The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 16 of the Atlas, Triassic Strata of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, Figure 31, Charlie Lake Isopach and Lithofacies. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.
