All available bathymetry and related information for Lower Kananaskis Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.
A digital grid of the top of the sand and gravel deposits that lie on the interflueve benches between major bedrock valleys. The unit is originally modeled from borehole data and adjusted to the bedrock surface and the present-day land surface. The grid is generated at a 250 m cell-size resolution, based on information as recent as 2003.
The Urban Service Area dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent Urban Service Areas in Alberta. Urban Service Area is a municipality type defined under the authority of the Municipal Government Act. The formation of an Urban Service Area can occur if there is a large unincorporated community within a Specialized Municipality that is recognized as an equivalent to a City by the Government of Alberta. It has a population, public utility services, and other characteristics.
The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 12 of the Atlas, Devonian Woodbend-Winterburn Strata of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, Figure 29, Upper Ireton Isopach and Lithofacies. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.
This GIS dataset depicts the surficial geology of the Faust Area (NTS 83O/SW). The data were created in geodatabase format and output for public distribution in shapefile format. These data comprise the point features of Alberta Geological Survey Map 554, Surficial Geology of the Faust Area (NTS 83O/SW).
The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 11 of the Atlas, Devonian Beaverhill Lake Group of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, Figure 7, Beaverhill Lake Structure. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.
This dataset is a GIS version of the linear surficial geology features in Alberta Geological Survey Map 146.
This GIS dataset depicts the surficial geology of the George Lake area (NTS 84D/SE) (line features). The data were created in geodatabase format and output for public distribution in shapefile format.
All available bathymetry and related information for May Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary.
This GIS dataset depicts the surficial geology of the NTS map area 84M southeast (polygon features). The data are created in ArcInfo format and output for public distribution in Arc export (E00) and shapefile formats.
