Suggested Response:

• The trauma experienced by Indigenous Day Scholars is shameful and our Government is committed to justice and healing for survivors.

• The settlement announced with Survivor and Descendant class members in the Gottfriedson Day Scholar class action is an important step toward that healing.

• The proposed settlement will provide $10,000 to each eligible Survivor and includes $50 million to establish the Day Scholars Revitalization Society which will support Survivors and Descendants in healing, wellness, language, culture, education and commemoration activities.
