Question Period Note: Timber Bay's Children Home

Our Government is working towards righting past wrongs, especially those involving Indigenous children, outside of the courts.

· The Courts have determined that Timber Bay could not be added to the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement.

· As directed by the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal, plaintiffs’ counsel has filed an amended Statement of Claim to seek compensation for survivors.

· Canada is open to engaging in collaborative discussions with the Province of Saskatchewan, survivors and their counsel on options to move this matter forward
