• Crown-Indigenous Relations plays a coordinating role on the part of the federal government, including releasing an annual progress report and supporting an online reporting tool.
Background:
Of the 231 Calls for Justice, 215 call on the federal government. Since the launch of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, the Government of Canada has made efforts to advance around three quarters of the federal work outlined in the Calls for Justice.
Call for Justice 13.4 urges governments to fund initiatives that explore the connection between resource extraction, development projects and violence against Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQI+ people. Natural Resources Canada leads the work responding to this Call for Justice.
Additional Information:
If pressed on Call for Justice 1.7 and 1.10

• The Department is also considering what was heard from Indigenous partners, families, and survivors on oversight mechanisms related to Call for Justice 1.10. If pressed on a Red Dress Alert
