• On June 24, 2025, the Federal Court of Canada approved the settlement agreement as fair, reasonable, and in the best interests of the Class Members.
• The Government of Canada has agreed to provide individual compensation to former patients who suffered verbal, psychological, physical, or sexual abuse at one of the 33 Federal Indian Hospitals.
• The Government of Canada has also agreed to provide funding for healing, wellness, reconciliation, protection of languages, education, commemoration activities, research and preservation of the history of these Hospitals.
