• On January 13, 2026, Crown – Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) was ordered by the Information Commissioner to release 607 pages of records related to the Tk’emlúps Survivor Project under an access to information request.
• The Information Commissioner has ordered CIRNAC to provide the requested records to the requestor by March 4, 2026.
• CIRNAC complied with the Order by the required date and the file is now closed.

Background:

The Department was ordered by the Information Commissioner on January 13, 2026, to release 607 pages of records related to the Tk’emlúps Survivor Project, response to ATIP CIRNAC A-2024-00232.
The Department complied with the request within the time set by the Information Commissioner, and responded on March 4, 2026.
The delay stems from ATIP backlog, complexity of the file and the need to consult Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc to respect confidentiality.
