Suggested Response:

• Our government has taken significant steps to make life more affordable and to advance reconciliation and self-determination in Nunavut

• A Memorandum of Understanding was signed to continue work to implement the Qikiqtani Truth Commission’s report and it’s 25 recommendations to foster reconciliation

• We Signed an Agreement-in-Principle on the devolution of Crown Lands, resources, and rights in respect of waters in Nunavut.

• We signed a joint declaration of intent for the construction and operation of a Recovery Centre in Nunavut to provide treatment for addictions and trauma.

• Changes to Nutrition North have lowered the cost of the Revised Northern Food Basket by $4.41 since 2011 and now includes non-food items.

• And the new Harvesters Support Grant will provide $8 million to support hunting and harvesting in 108 isolated communities.
