• We have made it clear that we are committed working in partnership with Indigenous Peoples and Territorial Governments to advance Northern Security and Prosperity.
• CIRNAC will continue to work with Northerners and Indigenous Peoples to support their political, economic and social development.
• I intend to work with my colleagues and engage northerners to address the ongoing challenges facing the North, including food security, infrastructure development, and climate change.

• Our government has committed to spend less on government operations so that Canadians can invest more in the people and businesses that will build our economy.
• With this commitment top-of-mind, the department has taken a principle-based and careful approach to Refocusing Government Spending by focusing its savings efforts on identifying efficiencies within its own operations.
• As we move forward, I will continue to work with my officials to ensure we are able to advance northern priorities while ensuring our operations are efficient and focused on achieving results.
