• As the Minister of Northern and Arctic Affairs, I am committed to working with my Cabinet colleagues to demonstrate Canada’s Arctic sovereignty and create a future where Northern and Arctic residents are thriving and safe.
• The Government of Canada will work closely with Arctic and Northern governments and Indigenous rights-holders as partners so that investments in dual-use infrastructure such as ports, airstrips, energy projects, and other infrastructure provides broader community benefits and respect their rights, incorporate traditional knowledge, reflect community priorities, and unlock new economic opportunities.
