Suggested Response:

• Canada is a world leader in Northern and Arctic scientific research and technology development. Canadian researchers have been at the forefront of broad range of work from environmental monitoring to developing and testing new cold-climate technologies, including clean energy solutions, waste and wastewater treatment, and home construction.
• We are doing this work hand-in-hand with territorial and Indigenous partners and with the private sector and academia. Polar Knowledge Canada and its flagship Canadian High Arctic Research Station in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut is playing a key role in advancing this important scientific research agenda in our north.
• A coordinated approach to northern science and research is bringing Canadian expertise to big global challenges and is protecting the health and well-being of Canadians and the environment, promoting economic development, while also contributing to sovereignty and national security.
