• Crown – Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) is committed to working with my Cabinet colleagues, alongside Indigenous and territorial government partners, to ensure Canada’s Arctic sovereignty is protected, and to advance national security through investments which address the human security needs of Arctic and northern residents.

• The Government of Canada will work with Arctic and Northern governments and Indigenous rights-holders as partners so that Arctic Infrastructure Fund investments in major northern transportation projects announced in Budget 2025 provide broader community benefits, respect treaty rights, incorporate traditional knowledge, and unlock new economic opportunities.
