• The Spring Economic Update 2026 shows we are committed to invest in the North and that northern infrastructure is central to Canada’s nation-building agenda.
• We are supporting projects in the North that will be returning energy sovereignty to Nunavut, improving connectivity, lowering costs of goods, while supporting Indigenous economic participation, and strengthening Canada’s Arctic and Northern sovereignty.
• We are also committed to working with northerners to address food insecurity and improve affordability through investments in the Northern Isolated Community Initiatives Fund and the Nutrition North Canada Retail Subsidy.
