Suggested Response:
• We believe the best way to resolve outstanding issues is through respectful and collaborative dialogue, which is vital to building stronger relationships and advancing reconciliation.
• The Government of Canada has offered to enter into negotiations with the Robinson-Huron and Robinson-Superior First Nations and the Government of Ontario to try to resolve the Restoule/Whitesand litigation outside of the courts.
• We hope that the parties can work together in a spirit of reconciliation and partnership to chart a new path forward based on our unique treaty relationship.

If pressed on the Court of Appeal for Ontario’s Decisions released on November 5, 2021
• The Government of Canada did not appeal either of the previous trial decisions. We are currently reviewing the recent decisions from the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
