What CanNor is doing to provide relief to territorial economies during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Suggested Response:

• The COVID-19 pandemic brought unique challenges to the North, particularly for small and medium-sized businesses. Our Government took immediate action to support them.
• Through its relief funding, the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency provided over $31.8 million in direct support, maintaining nearly 1,700 jobs.
• By working in partnership with Northerners and implementing Budget 2021 initiatives, such as the Jobs and Growth Fund and the Tourism Relief Fund, the Agency will continue to build on the North’s recovery path and address long-standing challenges.
