What CanNor is doing to provide relief to territorial economies during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Suggested Response:

• The COVID-19 pandemic brought unique challenges to the North, particularly for small- and medium-sized businesses, and our Government took immediate action to support them.
• Through its relief funding, the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency provided over $33.3 million in direct support, maintaining nearly 1,700 jobs.
• Budget 2021 introduced special
time-limited programs to bridge relief through the pandemic and spur recovery and growth. This included the Jobs & Growth Fund, the Canada Community Revitalization Fund, and the Tourism Relief Fund.
• CanNor invested $15.3M through these programs, helping put the territories on a path toward a resilient recovery.
