What CanNor is doing to support territorial tourism recovery during the COVID-19 pandemic

Suggested Response:

• The Northern tourism industry was hit particularly hard by COVID-19 due to the territories’ reliance on international visitors.
• The Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency (CanNor) immediately responded through relief funding which delivered $21.9M to the tourism sector, maintaining 876 jobs across the territories.
• In addition, through the Tourism Relief Fund and regular programming, the Agency continues to support the tourism industry, helping to ensure the North is ready to welcome all tourists once the conditions are right.
• As Canada emerges from the pandemic, we will continue to support a safe recovery of the Northern tourism sector.
