Suggested Response:
• Between April 2023 and August 2023, CanNor allocated over $22 million to over 64 projects that foster short and long-term economic development and job creation.
• Of these, almost $16M was allocated to 30 projects led or majority led by Indigenous recipients.

• Guided by its Pan-territorial Growth Strategy, CanNor continues to invest in key areas with significant potential to contribute to economic growth, including:
o a skilled northern workforce;
o major infrastructure projects;
o sustainable development of the mining and energy sectors; and
o economic diversification and innovation.

Territorial Examples
Yukon
• CanNor has committed over $7 million across 26 projects in the Yukon.
• Of the projects supported in the Yukon, over $6M was allocated 14 projects led or majority led by Indigenous recipients.
• CanNor supported Mésdzih Eskiye Designs, an Indigenous owned fashion and accessory design and retail business, towards a project focused on business expansion, mentorship and training, and participation in local and national Indigenous fashion shows.
Northwest Territories
• CanNor has allocated over $7 million across more than 22 projects in the Northwest Territories.
• Of the projects supported in the Northwest Territories, over $3M was allocated to 7 projects led or majority led by Indigenous recipients.
• CanNor supported the Temiskaming Native Women’s Support Group to develop and launch a pre-employment training and entrepreneurship program that supports the personal and professional development of Inuit, First Nations, and Métis women.
Nunavut
• CanNor has committed almost 8 million across 16 projects in Nunavut.
• Of the projects supported in Nunavut, over $6M was allocated to 9 projects led or majority led by Indigenous recipients.
• CanNor supported the Nunavut Fisheries and Marine Consortium (NFMTC) to develop and implement a mentoring program, aimed at increasing Inuit representation in the marine industry of Nunavut.
