What CanNor is doing to support Nunavut fisheries.

Suggested Response:

• Between 2017-18 and 2021-22, the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency has approved $18.9M for 25 projects for skills training, infrastructure development for inshore fisheries, research and offshore marketing, for the Nunavut Fisheries sector.
• The Agency’s contributions have helped develop 5 different fish stocks including arctic char, redfish, turbot and whitefish and seal.
• Nearly 559 jobs were supported in 13 Nunavut communities, including in Clyde River, Pond Inlet, and Qiqiktarjuak.
