How many Canada child benefit payments were issued by the CRA last year?
Suggested Response:
• The Canada child benefit (CCB) is a non-taxable amount paid monthly to eligible families to help them with the cost of raising children
under 18 years of age.
• For the July 2021 to June 2022 payment period, families can receive up to $6,833 per year for each child under 6 years of age and $5,765
per year for each child aged 6 to 17.
• Between July 2019 and June 2020, Canada child benefit payments were issued to 3.9 million families across the country, totalling over $26
billion.
